VIDEO: Innanega Construction

April 22, 2014  •  3 Comments

Previously I have described in detail the process of building a Guna house.  About a month ago the community built a new "innanega," or "drinking house," which is used for the elaborate ritual preparation of the ¨strong drink¨ used to celebrate special community events.  I took the opportunity to film the process as best I could and just cobbled it together into a short video.  To appreciate the details, the video is best viewed in full-screen 1080p, if your connection can handle it.

What an interesting way to understand just how it all happens! Great time lapse photography. By the end, you can feel the dim, coolness of the interior...a blessing in their warm climate.
